Dadumonaraya Pouch
The Dandumonaraya Pouch is inspired by a recent fascination with Sri Lankan folk tales and vintage matchbox art, bringing together storytelling and nostalgia in a functional design.
Rooted in the legend of King Ravana’s mythical flying machine, the Dandumonaraya, this piece carries a subtle cultural narrative while remaining modern and practical. As a designer, finding a spacious pouch that could hold all daily essentials (without compromising on character) proved surprisingly difficult. While larger pouches are easy to come by, ones with a distinct personality are rare. This pouch was created with love to fill that gap.
Crafted from durable canvas and finished with hand screen printing, each piece carries a tactile, artisanal quality.
