Pendi Masterclasses are an invitation to slow down, connect with your creativity and spend focused time with a Sri Lankan artist or designer who has built a brand or body of work using the techniques you'll learn.

Pendi Masterclasses are immersive creative sessions guided by professionals, offering insider access into the skills, materials and methods used in their practice.

Each masterclass is intimate, limited to just 6-8 participants, ensuring you get time, attention, and meaningful guidance. You'll walk away with a unique piece made by you, but more importantly with new knowledge, inspiration and a glimpse into the creative process of a professional.

OUR PROGRAMMES

1. Make Your Own Lamp with Pendi

In this session, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at how Pendi approaches design, blending aesthetics with functionality. You'll decorate and design a custom lamp and shade with guidance from a Pendi designer, learning how to play with colour, pattern and texture.

Then, you'll be shown how to wire and assemble your own functional lamp, gaining insight into how the team works to bring Pendi's signature pieces to life. You'll leave with a beautiful lamp made by you, ready to light up your space.

2. Wooden Cutting Board Workshop with Kanil from Geoblox

Engineer-turned-designer Kanil, founder of Geoblox, brings an inventive, problem-solving approach to product design. In this workshop, he shares his process of making functional, beautiful pieces using wood.

You’ll create your own bespoke wooden cutting board, learning how to shape, sand and finish it while also adding a personal engraved detail like a name or custom design. This is an accessible beginner-friendly introduction to woodworking, led by a designer whose products are made to last.

3. Mixed Media Collage with Trisha Dullu

Led by Trisha Dullu, a visual artist whose work blends acrylics with unexpected, textural materials, this workshop invites you to reimagine what a painting can be. Trisha has exhibited across Sri Lanka and India and in this session, she shares the techniques she uses in her professional body of work.

Using everyday elements like sand, newspaper and corrugated board, you'll explore two distinct mixed-media techniques and build your own layered, expressive artwork. Along the way, Trisha will guide you through her creative process , from choosing textures to composing visual depth.

4. Bespoke Leather Accessories with Pieris Leather

In this session, you’ll work with the talented team behind Pieris Leather, a Sri Lankan brand known for its minimalist design and sustainable practices. Their leather is sourced as a by-product of the meat industry, reducing waste and environmental impact.

You'll learn to craft a small bespoke leather accessory such as a cardholder, keychain or luggage tag. More than just the making, you’ll gain insight into how professional leather artisans select materials, design for function and finish for quality.
